Food is good, especially the side dishes, but not great and pricey. We were a party of 6, 5 of which ordered various cuts of steak, all of which were very generous cuts, but all a bit overcooked. The blackened salmon was average at best and not blackened.
Vegetable sides were good, the brussels sprouts very good, and portion sides were generous. The best thing about our dinner was the service, which was attentive and accommodating, and the view of the bridge from our table was nice. There are definitely better choices for the money. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great for a steak house. We sat a a table for 6 hoping that some of our gambling friends would join us off the casino floor. My buddy ordered an Anjeo tequilla which the waiter informed him after checking that they did not carry.
He then proceeded to order a Sam Adams which they did not carry either. Not carrying the Sam Adams was peculiar because we were served it on the casino floor. We then proceeded to order 12 oysters. While being flavorful and fresh, they were very small, some the size of a nickel. We each ordered a bowl of lobster bisque. It wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't memorable either.
Bland without any pieces of real lobster in it. Then our steaks came and whatever disappointments we had regarding our appetizers were quickly superseded by great, tasty steaks. We both ordered the W. R Chicago Cut 22oz Prime Ribeye. We both ordered them with a pepper crust and both steaks were cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and were excellent tasting. Our party did not have room for dessert, however we did see one dessert go by our table.
It was monsterous in size and very decadent looking.
Should we return again, I will just go for the steak and possibly one of their great looking desserts. One last comment, our server Pino was absolutely terrific. His service was great and really helped us enjoy ourselves.
My Dad and I had a fantastic time and will be back to dine soon! We were truly honored! Every staff member was incredibly kind. Melissa, who told me we were the winners, was very excited for us and answered all questions. David, the manager, was very professional and gracious, and we thank you for the complimentary glasses of delicious white wine.
Kimberley, our server, paid attention to every single detail to make the dining experience even more enjoyable with her knowledge, suggestions, and pleasant personality, she should be commended! The establishment itself is Astounding, Classic and Beautiful! The variety of music adds a lively yet soothing finishing touch!
Hugo's atmosphere is full of energy with a comfortable warm feeling of home! The food, my goodness, is out of this world delicious! Everything was prepared, served and cooked to perfection, Hats off to the Chef! The Filet Mignon was Superb! I have never eaten such fantastic food, nor have I ever been treated with such kindness and respect at a restaurant until Hugo's. We can not wait to return! My dad and I sincerely thank you all for an exceptional dining experience.

Recently had dinner with seven other girlfriends. Menu is perfect, something for everyone. Service was awesome and Garfield our waiter was very accommodating, he helped with our selections when we were undecided.
Will be back definitely! The waiter joe or Jon was was not attentive everyone else waited on us rather than him. Our service was so bad , it made the whole experience awful. We had a light dinner because we were going to a comedy show. We had a burger and po boy which were both good. We ordered the mac and cheese side which came out cold, when our server did check back with us we told him it was cold and had to ask him to please get a new one. A manager dropped a new one to us and then nobody checked back again. We had to ask for refills on our water and never got asked if i would like a second beer.
Lastly we had coffee and my wife ordered the piece of cake. If you have never eaten there before like us , just a warning the cake is enormous, as high as a steak knife and enough to feed people. We were not given a warning. We had to ask for a refill on the coffee. The whole dreadful experience took over 2 hours. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was quiet enough to have a conversation even though there was live music in the bar area. Love the music on thurs.. Had a 9 pm reservation. When making it I checked and it said that they were serving until The bread was cold and hard.
They seemed to rush us out. I heard them telling people that came into the bar that they were closed I asked for my steak to be done medium well. The waiter at one point commented since I ordered Medium well it is going to take so long to cook. It still came out bleeding.. Mashed potatos seemed microwaved burnt.
I realize that it was a later reservation but for the price I have been here before and will not be going back. There are many decent Steak restaurants in Philadelphia where I would rather spend my money. We had a great experience! Wine list is decent. Appetizers were delicious lobster bisque and garbage salad ; but the bone-in ribeye was fabulous!!!
Awesome grade of meat cooked perfectly as ordered. Twice baked potato was huge - enough for two to share possibly even 3 could share lol. We are in casino at least 4 times a week and Hugo's is our favorite place. We have come to know everyone that works there and that is part of the reason it is our favorite place.
We love the live music. Hogo's is clearly our favorite place. Service by Daisy was superb.
Prices a bit high, but worth it. Was a bit chilly on a really, really hot day. Service was excellent and every staff member in the restaurant was very attentive. Steaks were cooked as ordered and delicious. We ordered a piece of chocolate cake and got the biggest slice I've ever seen, it was wonderful and I will be dieting for a week!
I highly recommend Hugo's. Awesome dinner and service! We came to see a show st Sugar House and they made sure our service was expedient but not rushed! Great meal while we waited for the Jon Dorenbos show which was awesome. The food at Hugo Frog's is excellent.
The Lobster Bisque was rich and delicious. The Flounder with King Crab was wonderful. The Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, the service more a fault in timing from the kitchen than the actual servers was abysmal. Our three-course meal, which should have taken a well-paced hour and a half, was ordered, served, and paid for in about 45 minutes. The soup was in a large bowl and it was hot.
However, things rapidly went downhill. We were barely halfway through our soup before the main course arrived. This was less than 15 minutes into our meal. I was inclined to send it back, but figured it would just sit under the heat lamp and die a slow death, so the soup got pushed aside and we enjoyed the delicious entrees. We took our time eating these, worried all the time that the dessert was imminent.
The servers waited for us to finish our mains, but the dessert was in front of us within a minute. We felt extremely rushed, which ruined this fantastic meal for us. The restaurant was only half full, so there should have been no rush to turn the tables, but we certainly didn't have the opportunity to linger over any portion of the meal. I took more than half of the large glass of wine with me into the elegant bar and listened to the enthusiastic, but only mildly talented.
A rather inauspicious end to our "high-end" dinner! We expected so much more and will not be back. Nor will we recommend this restaurant to our friends or family.
