Warranty did not help. The Epiphone casino coup I received is a stunningly beautiful instrument and I could go on about its design and workmanship until I played it. The gap between the neck and the strings was to large making it difficult to play scales with any speed at all. The E string snapped when I was tuning it so I replaced all the strings with Ernie Balls Super Slinkey's and read what directions came with the guitar. I adjusted the bridge to lower the strings which then ruined the tones of the strings especially both E strings.
It also has a flat sound on the B string. I thought I had tuned it wrong so I bought an electronic tuner verifying the strings are tuned well. I am going to get an opinion from an expert at the shop I go to as apposed to returning it for now in the event he can suggest how to improve the action. Right before I ordered it I played several other guitars at the same price range and they all played better than the Epiphone. I am at this point disappointed with the guitars playing action or the space from neck to string.
This may get sent back if I'm told this is the best Epiphone can do. I've been playing guitar for more than 40 years. I've played a lot of very, very nice guitars. Not just ones that I've owned, but musicians I've been associated with. I'm currently working on an overseas assignment far away from home and I wanted a kind of "throwaway" guitar I could play unplugged while I was here without having to travel with my own guitar s. I picked this up at a local music store here overseas, intending to buy a , but once I strummed this true hollowbody I was sold.
Almost as loud as an acoustic with the playability of an electric. I couldn't be happier with my selection. It plays as fine as any premium name guitar you can think of. I haven't plugged it in, but I expect it will sound as good as it plays. I don't think so.
Now I have to figure out how to get it home as this baby will definitely become a part of my collection I don't care if this is on the cheaper side, this is one of the best guitars you will ever own. Has a great full sound that is super clean, the neck is just perfect at least for me , and the quality is great. Of course it is a hollow body so it is not a good idea to toss this guitar around. Also it may just be coincidence but it seems to stay in tune much longer than my other guitars.
