The waiter who was taking our order looked like he had just woken up from him sleep. He could barely speak in English and had a hard time comprehending our order. When we ordered a vodka on the rocks, he brought the vodka with tonic. He took 15 minutes to serve us water. When we asked him to bring anything additional for us, he frowned at us. We ordered roasted papad which took 45 minutes to make and when they were served to us, they were burnt. We were shocked when we received our bill. We had been charged for sliced onions, chutney that came with the papad and he billed us for three vodkas instead of two.

We had quite a few left overs, so we asked to pack them up. When we opened the package today, we found that he had mixed the kofta and the dal in one box. Who eats kofta and dal that are mixed together. He could have easily packed it separately. The chef makes good food, but if you continue to run the restaurant with waiters like the one we had, I don't know if your restaurant will survive.

They just lost a customer. We have a 2 year old who loves naan, but not much else Indian Food, so most of the time we're dining on Rang's delicious food ""to go"". It breaks my heart to dash in and out, while other diners are enjoying the ambience and setting. I would always rather dine IN the restaurant. The staff are warm and welcoming, and the service is attentive. The Biryanis are particularly good, and the Saag dishes are done well.

Actually I've never had a dish here that wasn't outstanding, and I've tried nearly everything on the menu. Beware the Chicken Vindaloo - I had to eat that dish s-l-o-w-l-y. The location is perfect - right in Stoneham center along the city square - away from street but still in the middle of everything. Rang is as good or better compared to every other Indian restaurant we've tried in Boston, but not as good as Indian restauants we've tried in London, which is why only 4 stars are granted here. I was pleasantly surprised to see an indian restaurant in stoneham, and ofcourse i had to go in.

The food was great, the decor has good earthy tones and is calming. The tandoor dishes were moist and succulent.

Lentils sauteed in butter with fresh herbs and spices, garnished with fresh coriander. She was very knowledgeable and I learned a lot and went home and passed on my knowledge. Having lived in Jackson Heights, New York I have tried many indian restaurants of all categories and Rang compares very well. The ambiance is welcoming and warm. The menu is standard indian fare, but all done very well. The Dosas are thin and lightly crispy and the Kormas and Mahknis are creamy, flavorful and delicious. The staff is also very pleasant and accomodating which is always a huge plus. Rang is a great addition to the neighborhood and area. Rang offers locals a novel and elegant dining experience.

The warm orange tones were brought to life by the subtle lighting fitted with exquisite looking tiny lamps that hung from the ceiling. Spirited Indian music played softly in the background, quiet enough for a date with your special someone or going in with a group of your favorite comrades conversation was easily had.
