Udemy is a really shady company too because you can opt into or out of the affiliate system but the terms of service for this agreement is not like the fixed and percent promo TOS. It only mentions agreeing to the service, not giving an option like the others to opt in or out of the service.
It very much reads like you have to agree just to use their platform.

A few years ago when they were struggling for students the margins were much better for instructors. A cheap course for the student has the lowest chances of a refund, and the highest chance of selling.
