Beachfront with direct access to beach. GREAT location. Really good breakfast tacos and made-to-order omelettes. Starbucks in lobby. Building is a little dated, but in good condition. Price was a little high to me. Hot tub was broken all weekend.

Room size, breakfast was great and reasonably priced, pleasant staff, beautiful and kid friendly pool, close beach access. The only negative things was that the balcony door was open when we first arrived and the tile floors did not absorb any noise from neighboring rooms. Futon didn't was missing a leg and light switch and fan weren't working properly.
Rooms need some overall upkeep. Not as good as pics described. Not clean, poor customer service, was told it was a nice place.

I won't be back!!! My fiance and I stayed for 4 nights in a standard king room and it was fantastic! The room was nice, bed was comfortable, staff were always smiling and greeted us any time we walked by. Room was cleaned every day while we were enjoying the sites. The pool was clean and the hot tub was too. Loved the walk path to the beach.
Plus the fresh made to order breakfast in the morning was delicious! Always friendly staff. Quick to address an issue I had. Large rooms.

Close to beach. Had a free awesome breakfast every day. We love South Padre and were excited for 4 fun days on the coast. As soon as we entered La Copa hotel we notice an odd smell then a different odor in our room.

There was also hair left on our bathroom floor. The free breakfast was lousy- cold waffles, atrocious coffee, and the eggs were awful. We had to find another business for breakfast. The hot tub was barely warm.

The workout room had kids playing on the equipment while blasting music. The kids left but there was no way to turn down the music in the gym. Our initial room was on the 3rd floor We called down at the desk to complain and found out that their special events are located on the 4th floor, directly above us, and there was a wedding going on. We had to argue but the clerk finally agreed to move us to another room on the 2nd floor.
That morning we woke up to make coffee but witnessed bugs actually crawling out of the coffee maker! Last straw. We immediately checked out and asked to speak to a manager about refunding the 2 nights we did not use. We drove the 6 hours back home. We called the following day and told the clerk why we wanted to speak with the manager to refund us our 2 unused nights. The clerk tells us La Copa doesn't issue refunds, ever.
Again I asked to speak with the manager. I was then put on hold I was on hold for 19 minutes. I hung up and tried calling back but no one answered. I called back 13 times. No answer.

Then I called hotels. The representative I spoke with took my complaint and tried calling La Copa to resolve the issue in order to issue a refund. The rep couldn't get anyone at La Copa to answer the phone either so he was going to follow up and email me in a few days when they issue the refund. A week later I get an email from hotels. As much as we want to process the refund, we were unable to do as the hotel charged the reservation for the entire stay. According to the hotel, they were unable to authorize a refund as they do not have a record that you checked out early.
