We booked a casita for my birthday and let me say they do absolutely NOTHING to make you feel special on your birthday despite my boyfriend writing it in the reservation special requests. Not even a mere "happy birthday" at check-in so don't expect that. We enjoyed the day in the springs and had a lovely dinner. We stayed up late drinking wine and talking. I suppose she called her manager, David Martinez, because he came and pounded on the door at We opened it and Mr. Martinez's attitude was immediately aggressive. He said there was "no proof" that we asked for late check out.
He told us we needed to leave immediately. He should have been able to see that we were in the middle of packing but I guess he was too worked up. We were stuffing things in our bags as fast as possible at that point. He started to aggravate my boyfriend and they started arguing. I have to tell you I was absolutely shocked. I expect luxury and excellent customer service. I also expect leaving 20 minutes after check out not to be a huge issue.
Instead, we were treated with zero respect. We would have gotten better customer service at a Motel 6. Martinez literally shrugged off when I mentioned it. I called David Martinez's boss, Monica Zamora. She apologized and said she would have her boss call. I gave them ample time due to the holidays but they never called back.
I filled out the survey and explained what happened on there. It said, "Would you like us to contact you? They obviously don't care at all about their guests. Do not go here expecting any type of treatment you'd expect at a luxury hotel. My boyfriend and I have tried to figure out why they would treat us like this. We have asked ourselves repeatedly why this might happen because I left feeling completely violated, sad, and confused by the whole situation.

They took a large sum of it, on one of our rare days off and then treated us like like we were criminals trying to get away with something. David Martinez ruined my birthday memory. He ruined Ojo Caliente for me as well. I am very sad about this whole situation and how it was handled. There is no excuse for the disrespect, aggressive behavior, and cursing.
I had family that was going to come in February and we have altered our plans to stay far away from this place. I suggest you do the same. Front desk man David, apparently a manager was especially rude during our visit. His unprofessionalism needs to be addressed by his boss. A group of our friends were really excited to visit this place.

There were several awesome public well, not required with a room stay pools- the mud one and Lithia were faves. They don't enforce the whisper rule and some people bring misbehaving children, although most children were pretty good except for 2 who were screaming and trying to drown each other the whole day. This is the type of place where you probably want to leave the kids at home and enjoy the peace, if it were me. It is a treasure and a treat I love enjoying on my own, and treasuring with local and visiting guests and friends.

The cottage was short walk to the spa. The mineral pools were excellent, hot and quiet and not too crowded. The grounds were well kept, clean and very pretty. We did get massages and enjoy the services immensely. The staff was friendly and incredibly accommodating, we felt pampered and welcomed at all times. The icing on the cake was when as we were leaving and had to clean about four inches of fresh snow off the car, a passing employee stopped to help us clean off the car!!! This place is well worth the money and a wonderful place to relax and recharge.
I highly recommend this place for a girls' getaway, romantic weekend or outing with family adult family, don't bring your little kids, this is quiet place for soaking. I just had the absolute best massage with Paul today. He noticed my shoulders were tense. At the end of my massage, I asked him about stretches I could do to help with my posture. He took the time to write down the names of the muscles I needed to stretch and what videos I could look up on YouTube for proper stretch techniques. He went above and beyond to make me comfortable and relaxed. I love the pools here, too.
There's definitely good energy. My girlfriends and I came for a girls' weekend- maybe not the best place to catch up with friends from out of town because we keep getting shushed. This is a place for quiet relaxation, and the drive up which is beautiful in the fall with the changing leaves is definitely worth the trip. What a lovely place! From the moment we stepped into the lobby to when we departed the following day, the service, experience, and ambiance were precisely what was called for. After checking in we enjoyed the various mineral pools while we waited for our spa appointments.
