I find most deals better online other than the in-store clearance section , so I do not make it into the store often. The first time anything worth sending to customers went out was on July 24th. This does not mean your store or even mine did not have anything worthwhile until then. The first 5X Points on anything offer popped up on July 22nd.
That was only available to Diamond and Platinum members. It repeated on 10X Points day. Any product not included in the large 10X points event on August 20th got 5X points. This did technically repeat on September 9th for Platinum and Diamond members, but it was in the 3X, 5X format. Another event that grew this year was the Summer Sale. It ran from July 1st through 4th with more deals than usual. The second or first depending on how you look at it Jumbo Love Event took place from July 1st through July 28th. It held the usual 4-week format.
This was the first year of the Diamond Program, so it was also the first time we saw this specific promotion. It appeared on March 11th. The Beauty Stars Event ran from March 1st through 5th. All members got 10x points on mascara and lashes for Member Appreciation on November 20th. February saw the launch of Skinfatuation. The first monthly GWP for this event released on February 26th. Ulta and Dani mentioned this was a year-long event, but it has not released anything since October.
I only tracked and reviewed the ones I purchased, which were the bags that started on February 18th and July 29th. The first hot buys of the year popped up on February 16th. These release all year, including the latest round on December 12th. The first coupons for a specified percentage off select products arrived on February 10th. All were targeted and unique, but general offers pop-up at times.
The first affiliate offer of released on February 11th. It opened to the public the next day. This was a slow year for affiliate exclusive offers, which made finding and stacking as many deals as possible easier for the consumer. The first ever Diamond Perk released on February 5th. When a promotion takes a two-year absence, it is less likely to get revamped. Ulta used to allow online customers to select a sample pack at checkout. This was a 2-piece free sample set usually foils unless you selected fragrance. I used to get the same samples whether I selected skincare or variety, so I mostly selected variety. Sometime in the middle of the year, the option to select skincare or fragrance disappeared. That left only the variety sample pack. Many orders I placed this year would come without samples even when I selected the variety sample pack. While I have received orders in the past with missing samples, I had not received as many in all my years shopping Ulta as I did in There were times later in the year where the option to select a variety pack disappeared, but it reappeared each time.
Since it has disappeared and reappeared before, it is possible it will again. Though I never place value on foils, I love the opportunity to try new things and agree with those who feel the sample loss does slightly diminish the shopping experience. This will also give me fewer items for my Foil Challenges , but I am sure I will still collect enough to keep it going.
