I will wait to hear some reviews from more divers but keep my eye on this one for now, plus I have 6 flashlights already. I've got a few of them. My advise is made sure what you buy has a good track record. I have bought way to many small lights as backup lights to find they only lasted through one dive season. OMS lights suck and their CS sucks. There advise was to buy the newer model because the old one had problems. I always had good luck with UK lights. Had a C4 and C8 that did many dives without a single problem.

FWIW this was just before they went to led bulds. Still have both lights and they both still work. Just don't dive with them anymore. I have a Hollis light that stays on my harness year round and goes on every dive I do. So far after two years and over a hundred dives it still works. It's a cheap plastic body and I didn't think it would last long but it's been a good light. They don't make it anymore though. FWIW I would buy one of their canister lights again. Now I see lumen model that followed mine is being marked down I took the intova video light I just bought on my last dive light At some point my wife was complaining to me about glare.

I find my lumen princeton tec shockwave to be as much light as I need for recreational night diving. I would say that if I did it again I would buy the 4C model, not the 8C. The extra battery life is fairly meaningless to me Unless your light has an extremely wide spread, lumen is likely 2x more than you need for the type of diving you described at the beginning of this post.
