We made reservations for Christmas Eve dinner at 6: Arrived about 5: The hostess told us the table was ready. We said we wanted to have a drink in the bar before our dinner time. The patrons are mostly local and frequent customers. I had chicken parm. My wife had eggplant It had been awhile since I went to Johnny Cascones, and it didn't disappoint. I love the pasta Diablo, the sauce is perfection, and the staff was very welcoming. The service was very good, however, not everyone was happy with their choice of foods and the atmosphere was as expected. The alfredo was so soupy you almost needed a strainer to get the noodles out. One of the orders was italian sausage with peppers After nearly 30 years of good food and good service, this old standby has pretty much given up the ghost.

Excellent authentic Italian food. The best Eggplant Parmesan ever!!! They were great at accommodating the young ones with a change to the pasta provided in the dish they ordered. Love this restaurant! Should get my 30 year pin for loyalty. Always excellent. Never disappointed. Really need to update interior. I had chicken alfredo and could have had more sauce and there was definitely a "flour" taste - not sure if it was the pasta, sauce or chicken breading.
Just seemed a little "off" by most times we have eaten there. I've been going to Cascone's for 20 years. It's such a quaint little place that I hope never changes. No live music which is why we dine here on Fridays. Food was excellent as usual. This time we were disappointed. Hoping next time is better. After years of enjoying meals at Cascones, the food this time was medicore at best. Birthday lunch. Our first choice - always!
Wonderful food as always. Not our best waiter but worked out fine. Food was great. We left full and will be back soon. The chicken spedini is to die for!!!
And the atmosphere is great. Food was fantastic! This is the kind of Italian food that I was used to growing up on the east coast. The veal parm is the best in KC. The chicken spedini was out of this world!!!!! Also you have the best bread in town. The food and service is always excellent. I had the Tuscan grilled salmon with grilled vegetables and all I can say is I am ready to go back and order it again.
Excellent food as always! Prices have really gone up since the last time we were there. Service was acceptable. One of our favorite places! Friday night but not very busy. Our server Terri was a delight with well timed attentiveness and not intrusive. The sugo was rich and had good cling factor for bread dipping. Generous serving size and good for leftovers. Jacks Pasta was served with a rich but light citris tasting sauce with abundant shrimp, perfectly cooked. Leftovers tonight. This is a classic Italian restaurant that has maintained its identity as a neighborhood friendly hospitality destination.
No bartender on Sundays meant no pineapple martini. The food is fabulous. The portions make the table groan. The restaurant was busy because everyone there seemed to have the same coupon!
