Breakfast was great too with lots of choice.
We did not visit tourist attractions because of the nature of our visit but lived in Kingston for over 30 years and would recommend downtown and waterfront as particularly attractive. Homecoming weekend was on. Streets were littered with loud obnoxious people chanting - sometimes offensive slogans. Some historic sites were closed as well.
And whatever happened to The Sleepless Goat?! Used to be a favorite stop for us! Next time I come I'm bringing a bathing suit, I didn't realize the water was swimmable!! There was a cute man made beach near that pier named after that Rockstar guy.
There were plenty of options for vegan food, and meter parking downtown is free after 5pm I think. There was a microwave and a refrigerator we put our leftover dinner in it so it wouldn't spoil. The air conditioner was very good. It was a bit noisy when it turned on but once I fell asleep, it did not wake me up. The front desk was very helpful.
The bathroom was clean and had lots of room, even a hairdryer. There was an ironing board as well! We stayed near the lake so we could walk everywhere. Food experience downtown was generally good, except for a just average breakfast at the hotel. Kingston is the nicest town in the area but if you are visiting the islands, I would stick to the American side of Lake Ontario in general. Services are few and far between restaurants, car rental, hotels and distances between towns that can provide services are long. Crossing the Canadian border back and forth is not recommended from my experience.
This is an older hotel with wonderful character. I am in a wheelchair, and it is not perfectly accessible, but I got by fine. What made our stay exceptional was the staff. They were so personable, and would do anything for us. The fireplaces in the rooms, the huge crown moldings. I have stayed in the fanciest, most expensive hotels in Kingston, and if they were all the same price, this is where I would still return.
I like this room in particular. I've stayed in other rooms at this hotel before but this one is by far the best. It's big and open concept, it's stylish and the jacuzzi is a real treat.
The raised bed was also comfortable and the bedding was of a higher quality than many hotels. This hotel may not be by the water in downtown Kingston but it's a very quick drive down princess Street. I find that we get more for our money when we stay up the street. Convenient - close to downtown. Clean - bathroom and the room in general seem clean.
Really like how the room includes two sinks one is in the bathroom and one is outside. Bathroom products are good. Microwave and fridge are great. Towels are soft. Free parking on-site is good. Excellent staff right down to the parking attendants. We had an amazing water view from our room. Everything was very clean and was an overall very nice hotel. We were close to everything we needed downtown and had a lovely breakfast at Aquaterra. Our stay was excellent. Walking distance of everything, in the centre of downtown Kingston, really great area with a beautiful view!
Excellent hotel; Staff super accommodating, early check-in, good breakfast, indoor pool.
We have been going to Kingston waterfront for three years and we are never disappointed. We love the view, the. We will continue to stay at this hotel! Very central downtown location. Departure point for island cruise located behind the hotel. Ample municipal parking around the hotel. Good selection of restaurants and pubs around the hotel. The Green Acres Inn is a gem in the city of Kingston, extremely clean and well appointed for any traveller who is looking for a little more of a familiar home feel than hotel.
Good location near the highway, gas station and restaurants, and not too far from downtown Kingston and Fort Henry.
