I had a badger hair shaving brush that I had been using for many years. It was time for a new one and after some searching opted to go for the Rocky Mountain one based on reviews, price and the fact that it comes with a simple stand, I have been using the brush a couple of times now I am not a daily shaver but rather twice a week and must say that I am very pleased with the rich and pleasant lather it creates.
So very pleased with this purchase. Fantastic brush for the money! Only had it for a month I'd used a very expensive brush for 10 years, but when I replaced it with same, it began shedding horribly after 2 months. Same thing happened. So far, outstanding! The odor some mention is negligible. This brush works very well. The stand is just a lightweight piece of plastic, but is quite essential to maintaining the brush.
This brush is a little stiffer than other brushes I have used, which makes it better because it seems to apply the lather better and to all sides of the whiskers. Others have mentioned an odor, there is a faint earthiness about but nothing objectionable. Considering the source for the bristles, I imagine there are some variations in this area. I wet the brush, blot it out, then use it on the soap cake to work up a not-too-wet-and-sloppy lather. After use, be sure to rinse, dry and hang up.

I would recommend this to a friend. I received nothing in exchange for this review and paid the regular price. I was really worried after researching all the brushes available on Amazon. Many, even the higher priced ones, reported issues with stiffness, smell, or bristles falling out.

After months of use I have had none of these problems with this shaving brush. The brush cleans up very well after a rinse and a good squeeze and when I put it in the stand it drys well and leaves no drips on the counter. I may even purchase a second one to use with a second brand of shaving soap I plan on trying. That way I can alternate between which shaving soap I want to use each day along with a designated brush. I liked the price of brush and quick shipping.
I do not like the coarseness of the brush, I thought it would not be so coarse after a month of use but it seems its just the quality of the hair: I wanted to remind my husband to slow down and take that half hour of luxury self care to start the day. So this was very important.
This is a nice brush. I was new to wet shaving and didn't want to spend a fortune on a brush. The Rocky Mountain Barber brush doesn't disappoont.
