The characters are so well written it feels like you know them. I don't give out spoilers, so you must read it to discover all the twists and turns. I've read many of author Dianne Harman's previous works, and knew this one would be brilliant as well. Looking forward to the following book! I highly recommend and give it 5 stars! Marty Morgan has just gone thorough a divorce after having been married 25 years.
Laura works for a large insurance company who starts giving Marty appraisal work. Her son Jim hires Marty to do the appraisal. Right now he has no leads. A dear friend of Pam realizes that Pam's favorite collection the Monkey Band was stole. Here's when things start to change.

There's more than one suspect. Recently I started reading this series and find it very enjoyable. I can relate to the characters as their story unfolds and worry about them when danger rears its ugly head. The information about antiques and art is very interesting and the recipes look quite tempting. I believe anyone can pick up a book in the series and enjoy it without reading the rest, however, you might get hooked on the whole series. Marty and her sister are doing a full house appraisal for the estate when the owner the is found.
The only items missing are 3 very rare antique monkey statutes. There are several suspects who might have committed one or both crimes. I debated if I should give more stars but I don't think that this book is one of Dianne Harman's better books' I liked the story. Something just seemed to be lacking. See all reviews. The bathroom is a tent behind the chicken coop which is a five gallon bucket with a toilet lid and inside its an eco friendly composting bag with chemicals and once you leave camp, you pour the chemicals in it and throw it in the dumpster. The shower is super cool, it is built inside an old greenhouse.

It's solar heated, so you should plan to take your shower in the afternoon or so when it's warm out. We cooked dinner on the back patio and had mixed veggies and we set up camp a little further out on the property. The view from the tent was lovely, you could see out for miles and miles and the next morning we got to see hot air balloons out in the sky. We had a great time at Marcella and David's! The hot tub was definitely a highlight- the view of the sunset over the mountains from the tub was incredible.
Additionally, our hosts were very communicative and helpful, responding quickly to our messages and assisting us with whatever we needed. The only thing I would tell someone thinking of camping here is that it does feel very wide open- while there is a lot of space to set up camp, there is very little tree coverage so it doesn't exactly feel secluded. That said, for the price, and considering the amenities that were available and the natural beauty of the surroundings, we were very pleased with this campsite! I am a veteran myself and found this VERY short story, different. I would really like to rate it higher as the flying descriptions and air battle practice at top gun was exceptional. But I just didn't understand where this was going at the end.
I gave it 5 stars chiefly because of the authors description of flying the missing man formation for a lost aviator. Miller titled "Raven One"! I look forward to sitting down soon and reading this new one! One person found this helpful. Like some of the flights described within, this story has wonderful pacing. You gasp for air and strain under the excitement of fast jets and earnest will, then unload to catch your breath with some thoughtful reflection, only to BOOP, find yourself back in the thick of it, all hot steel and razor intention.
From hard, technical descriptions to poignant, swelling loss, this is a bantam treatise of Naval Aviation--short and aggressive, stripped down to the muscle, bone, and marrow. It's a tribute to "those in peril in the air", a tribute to service, a tribute to excellence.
The title is also far deeper than it first appears. I highly recommend it.
