Bfresh was a great employer. They were supportive of my career advancement and provided training. Community focused and driven. Great growth opportunities. Was this review helpful? It was a very pleasant place because of the environment and customers. I never would mind staying overtime or picking up shifts. Working at Bfresh was very enjoyable, if i wasn't offered a higher pay working with SimpliSafe, I would've stayed a lot longer. Ok place to work. I liked the products and the area that my BFresh was at, in Brighton, but like any place managers can be a pain.
There was less packaging than the ready to go Purple Carrot kit I previously bought. The only potential downside is that you have to be somewhat comfortable with cooking and ingredients in general. The packaged ingredients had no labels. Bfresh sweet potato gnocchi kit. A post shared by awesomesauceeats on Feb 28, at 4: Now, remember how I called the Purple Carrot recipe card mildly cheap in my previous post?
Shiny laminated card is shiny. The recipe came out fine. I wish there were a bit more flavoring in it though. Yes, you read that right. I am sorely tempted to try every flavor of the meal kits. My gnocchi are… rustic. You are commenting using your WordPress. You are commenting using your Twitter account.

Pemberton and Porter are even further away, and the Alewife Brook Stop and Shop is still a 15 minute walk away. Not sure what you mean. Not to mention, it's a weird point to make that you don't want to shop at "major chains" and then say "I'll just shop at Wegman's" in the next sentence.
By rebranding all I meant was changing their name. I am a bit surprised. That area of Brighton has no grocery store. Closest are all over a mile away. I don't know anything about their business model though. Could just be poorly run. Nothing is staying in that strip mall there where they are located. GNC and Super Cuts moved a block down the street. Bfresh is gone the BHAC before that left eh same space. Just Starbucks is left.
Maybe something about that complex? No idea. Even living walking distance to it, I rarely went to it vs getting in the car. And if you want something good, assuming it isn't rush hour, the Chestnut Hill Wegmans is only min.
Misleading, editorialized, or sensationalized post titles discouraged when suggested or objective title will do. Also the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Bfresh was a new supermarket coming into Allston a college town in MA. If your post doesn't show up, it may be for several reasons:. Sure the selection was very odd, the prices were too high and the parking situation was not fun, but it was convenient if I needed to grab a few things on my way back into town after a weekend away or on my way home from yoga. I'll also point out there's some local businesses with very loyal followings for the smaller trips. Plus CVS and the like.
Indeed, I do think cars are more used in this area, especially since there might be a few more families around than other parts of the city. I guess I am just one of the unlucky few. Without a car, I'm stuck planning my schedule around infrequent off-peak bus schedules or walking at least 30 minutes each way. Johnny D's hours aren't great and is cash only. Kiki's has some groceries but on some items the prices are insane. CVS works for some things but overall, just not enough. Basically I'm just sad.
I loved being able to walk 5 minutes getting everything fresh for dinner to make immediately and doing that a few times a week. This is literally my predicament. I don't have a car, stop and shop is just far enough that its inconvenient and most people there seem to drive , and like who is grocery shopping at kikis??
I stop in some mornings for the cheap coffee, the occasional sandwich, and some of the Irish scones now and again. That's mostly it. I used to work at the Brighton store, and many of our customers walked or took the bus. Not as many cars as you might think unfortunately. Was about to say this- when I lived there and didn't have a car, it was so annoying. Surprised it wasn't able to survive on location alone. A national physical therapy chain place looks about ready to open or maybe it already did? Just walked by last night. Good luck to them! Any sign of work at Washington Street?
That is supposed to have a Roche Brothers once constructed. For the same products. From the same parent company. But it was nice not to drive if I needed something quickly. The prepared foods were pretty decent too. There was always people shopping in there, I'm a bit surprised. Went into bfresh for Oj and walked into what only could be described as the Black Friday of grocery shopping.
Nonetheless I got a shit ton of bacon at half price. I picked out a bunch of things the other day, and then I saw the line and realized that 20 minutes of my time was more valuable than saving a couple of dollars. This is actually a huge bummer for me - this area of Brighton has no grocery stores.
Sure the selection was very odd, the prices were too high and the parking situation was not fun, but it was convenient if I needed to grab a few things on my way back into town after a weekend away or on my way home from yoga. There's a wegmans 10 minutes in one direction, and a couple stop and shops in various other directions, as well as various star markets and TJs.
I thought the best part about the Allston store was the bakery when it first opened. They had brought in staff from the Netherlands to train the local employees and had some very good bread and pastry recipes that they said they also brought over from Europe.
I think they found after a bit that it wasn't economical to run a bakery like that in-store. This sucks, it was so close to me in Brighton. I did go get like 12 monster energy drinks for 12 dollars though. Is the Roche Bros still slotted to go in on Parsons and Washington? I hate having to plan 90 minutes of my day to go grocery shopping. I can't seem to find any recent developments nor can I find anything about any sort of pulling out.
It's an area that would pay the prices they charge and a bit of a better-off food desert in some ways. Their most recent news was the announcement of the Brother's Marketplace they're putting in in Waltham while also closing their Burlington store after Wegmans finished the job Market Basket began. The Davis Square bfresh was originally supposed to be a Brothers Marketplace.
