Like the service these guys are giving. Last time i was there with the used vehicle i bought. The oil was leaking. I asked them to check what's wrong with it. The technician told me that oil pan was leaking. He showed me what was the problem which turns very helpful to know what was actually going down there. Dont go to these guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great service every time. I service both vehicles here and am always impressed with their knowledge, they know what they've done to your car before and make suggestions for what to consider next!
I love how fast and friendly the service is. They let me know what needs to be repaired on my car in the future and are never pushy. I would recommend them to anyone. Great prices, nobody is on commission so the staff isn't pushy AND they give free top ups. Definitely recommend trying it out. Very polite crew, knowledgable and even had treats for the dog. Price was good and turn-around time was less than 10 minutes. They do unauthorized work.. They charge horrendous prices.. I strongly recommend going somewhere else Service was quick, professional, friendly. The facility was clean and inviting. I pulled up, told them what I wanted, they offered extra services which I declined without hassle. They pointed out a few potential problems on my vehicle.
I was offered an iced tea while my car was serviced. I enjoyed being able to see the work being done via camera.
The communication between employees was excellent and also helped me to have confidence in their service. I would recommend this location! These guys are fabulous. I took my son's car here for his first oil change with his newly bought first ever car and they were fantastic with him. They taught him what to look for, what things were and gave him a run down about his new car. When I say new I mean used, by the way. I was super impressed with these guys and will bring my car and my son's car back again and again. The service was outstanding.
Can't say enough about the personality and the service. Loved the service here. They didn't have my filter as it was specialty but they ordered and made an appointment for me. Repeat customer. Great service. More than an oil change - they identified and serviced problem with rad fluid, transmission and filter. The staff was extremely knowledgable and friendly. The service was fast and affordable. Also enjoyed the complimentary 2nd cup coffee. It was a nice touch! Definitely recommend this place to everyone. They tryed telling there was something wrong with my truck n after taking to the shop n finding out that the guys who changed my oil really have no idea what they r yalking about!!!
Just stick to changing oil guys!!!! When we entered the service bay, the attendant pulled the dip stick and inquired about our service records. After a review, he suggested that the oil and filter did not require changing and that he was reluctant to charge a customer when there was no need. He suggested that the dealer has simply forgot to reset the service indicator when the oil was last changed. We accepted his informed advice and agreed no oil service was required at this time.
He then "topped off" the oil level and the windshield washer fluid and sent us on our way refusing to accept payment for his efforts. This type of service and approach to customer service should be appreciated by more local customers. Make a point of having your oil changed there. Are you freaking kidding me? My injectors are dirty?
You pulled my dip stick out and that was it dont tell me that bull crap. And vharging me 5 dollars for taking off my skid plate? Its 3 bolts to take off it takes 2 seconds not half hour. Id rather use mr lube even then i dont like them. As every Canadian knows our dollar is worth less each day in the world market due to the drop in oil price!!
Yet the past five visits over the past year has seen the cost of a oil change go up more and more every visit, I can't help but see my self and every other driver going to The Great Canadian oil change as being gouged!!

A long time very satisfied customer received very poor service today. It started with disallowing a coupon that was 3days past expiration, ok my bad but it still had a month left on the dealer expiry which is what I was looking at. I was not offered a coffee or paper as usual and then the hard sell began. I was offered a brake fluid flush which I declined and he continued the sell to which I declined twice more and he did not stop until he had finished the complete pitch. Then the same thing with the power steering fluid flush. I left Mr Lube because of the hard sell but I will give them one more chance before I look for another option.
If it wasn't for the fact my car didn't have oil in it I would have left, to top it off no Valvoline mail-in rebate coupon upon leaving. Not impressed. This is my 2nd visit to Great Canadian Oil Change and have been happy with their work both times. They were efficient and quick. I was in and out of there in less than 20 minuets. I had a few questions and the fellow that worked on my car went above and beyond to answer them for me. Excellent customer service. They are more expensive than Canadian Tire but I like the fact that you don't have to make an appointment and they're fast.
Canadian Tire is about half an hour from my home so I save gas. Also I find there is a lot more one on one service. You are talking directly to the mechanic that is working on your car. In the past I have waited up to 3 hours at Canadian Tire and always left with unanswered questions. Would I go back, definitely. Terrible and rude! I was a client for years but I won't go again.
I was disrespected and my aunt was and also my father. Well done, quickly. I resent the "tip" section on their debit machine. Service is amazing here and the oil change is so fast. They are very thorough with thier oil changes. Highly recommended. Nice place with great people!! I was blown away with the generosity. Many thanks again!! Hi there, I just want to let you know that as of today I will never return to any of your locations not will I ever recommend your stores to anyone ever, I am from out of town, I have a new vehicle to me , and I am a woman I however I am pretty vehicle savvy and probably would have done my own oil but was not at home I got a bit nervous but was told many years ago to never have the fluid flushed so I didn't I did go back to where I was staying and check it for myself Nope not at all!

Very professional and speedy. Have no dought you did it right as I got to watch the whole prosess. I checked after I got home and discovered the grease nipples were dirty and obviously had not had any grease. This greasing is supposed to be part of their service and your steering components will fail or wear out quicker if they are not greased.
Do not take your vehicle in unless you are prepared to check it after. Excellent service and info. We visited with an older vehicle that had sat awhile and they were nonjudgemental and helped prioritize repairs within budget. Knowledgable and friendly. They went above and beyond cleaning coolant overflow container even. This will be our new stop for regular maitenance. I dont usually write reviews but the friendly guys at Great Canadian were so great that I felt like I had to give a shout out. Fast but thorough, they were amazing about not trying to up sell me on everything like most of the other guys.
I left there feeling confident they did a good job and didn't feel like I spent a fortune for it. Just got an all around good feeling about the place and would absolutely recommend them to anyone. Very happy with the service and end result. Knowledgeable and quick. With a new vehicle I was nervous not going back to my dealership but they explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions.

After just moving here from the mainland i needed an oil change in my newer car. Yes after reading the reviews i should have NOT gone. But i am so glad i did. They are under new management, they were fast and extremely friendly. It has been a week since my oil change and there are no issues. Sending my husband there today. I had no choice but to give this business one star, the post option was greyed out until I highlighted at least one star. This business gets ZERO stars from me. I went to the Great Canadian Oil Change in Parksville today to get the oil changed and rad flushed in my vehicle.
When I got home to Deep Bay, a 42 kilometer drive, and turned off my vehicle, water came spewing out.
I tried unsuccessfully to reach the Parksville location by phone they did not pick up, nor when I finally did get through did they offer any assistance or possible solutions except to say someone would call me after 5 PM. No one ever did call me back. I did not realize that the Great Canadian OIl Change shops are individually owned and run independently from one another. I phoned the Courtenay location and spoke with a man named Ryan shortly after I got home around 2.
I told him my dilemma and that I also needed to be on the road early tomorrow to go to work. He offered to phone the Parksville location for me and see what he could do to help.. He phoned me back after contacting the Parksville location, who had not offered any help or possible solutions. Ryan offered to come and take a look and possibly fix my jeep for me if he was able to, when their Courtenay shop closed at 6 PM.
I still did not know at this point that GCOC businesses were individually owned and operated. Ryan and his work partner Mark drove all the way here from Courtenay, a 43 kilometer drive, after their work day to help me when they had absolutely no obligation to do so whatsoever. They came because they care about the individually owned and operated Great Canadian OIl Change franchise they work for.
Ryan and Mark were able to get the issue figured out. They would not accept any money for coming to help. If you live in the Parksville area and need an oil change in your vehicle it is worth your time to bypass the Parksville location and go to Courtenay or to one of the two Nanaimo Great Canadian Oil Change locations as they are owned by the same person that owns the Courtenay location and I bet all three locations have exemplary workers with excellent customer service skills.
