Not sure this is entirely the boxes fault as finish times can be set me the channel provider but there is no overlap feature to help with this when recording directly after another. We are not mean, we just were not impressed with the content for the money. After a lot of research and thanks to other people's reviews on Amazon, I chose this unit. Within 20 minutes from sealed box, we were into hundreds of programmes. The unit found my router quickly and we were online. I want to sink all adverse comments about the remote, there is nothing wrong with it!
Everything worked perfectly. I just wish that Humax had not bought a "job lot" of white plastic, a black unit would have fitted so much better on my stack. This should not detract however from its superb performance. Picture and sound quality are great and the OSD was appreciated by all the family.

Unfortunately I have lost my BT sport. BT say they cannot transfer it from my Sky account even though my Sky account has been cancelled. BT are in for a few strong letters. With this fast moving technology, they have to allow other manufacturers such as Humax to use their smart cards. I cannot recommend this unit highly enough. Sorry for those who got faulty units at the start, these things happen.
It is worth persevering to finally get an operational unit, you will not regret it. Also future software updates may well improve or add missing functionality so some of the issues may well be ironed out in a future firmware version. Netflix in particular haven't provided the same quality apps for all devices that are supported. Slight annoyances to be aware of - time from standby to on is not the quickest, taking 30 seconds or so to get from standby to watching anything. Also the display constantly displays the title of what you're watching and scrolls it too if it's a long title.
If you had the box next to the TV within your field of vision then I'd find this perpetual scrolling display pretty annoying after a while to the extent where I'd almost certainly put some tape over it. Fortunately ours lives far enough away that it's not a problem, but an option to turn the display off during playback or after a timeout would be a good addition. I wanted to like this box and overall it is worth having and better than Sky. Interface is a bit clunky but logical after a short time once you get in to the 'Humax' way of doing things.
Pros - good picture quality, and decent hard drive space as well. Cons- can sometimes take an age to boot up.
