Err I know you mentioned that BART is not an option but perhaps just like the T and buses in Boston , you could use public transport for your city days and then if you do want to travel around the Bay, rent a car directly at Fisherman's wharf. That would be advisable unless you are leaving the city daily and need the car.

BART does not go to that part of town in any case. You would have to transfer to a cab or a bus at the Embarcadero station. Either check out the Columbus Motor Inn near Fisherman's Wharf free parking or any of the umpteen motor lodges along Lombard Street which are between a 10 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride to FW. All have free parking.
Cow Hollow Inn , Coventry are two.
Del Sol is another and Marina Motel is a third. All good and at different price points. This is SF, and what we all have to pay if choose that area of the city to stay. There is no secret parking. Used to be free for the 4 hours, but went up. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity.

Best Relaxing Time Great location, super quick check-in, friendly desk staff, helpful knowledgeable bell staff and the cleaning staff were also friendly and timely. Great location close to all the areas of interest. Until the remodel is completed, maybe make your re Very nice hotel, the remodeled areas are beautiful. Location Expensive. Above and beyond The staff , especially Katie at the front desk went above and beyond to make our anniversary stay wonderful.
