Our group of 6 2 adults, 4 kids ages 13, 12, 10, and 6 had a nice time here. We showed up on a Great fun for the family, get the kids on this and show them who's still boss!! Q Zar comes with Q-Zar is a good place for some fun games of laser tag or to host a kid's birthday party.
They also have arcade games to keep them occupied in between rounds.
Check their website for current specials; they usually offer a free round if you bring the most recent report card with you that has an "A" on it. Works when you are seeking an hour or two of fun indoors. I've been coming here since I was a little girl. I even had a birthday party when I was too young to remember. Being 23 now, this place still has something for everyone. Laser tag is definitely their main attraction, but I'm addicted to their Dance Dance Revolution machine, it's a great workout!
The laser tag can be complicated to understand for new players, but the marshals explain everything thuroughly and if you have questions they always do their best to answer them, both in their breifing and during the game. Unlike onther laser tag establishments, there are marshals always walking around in the game and they actually do their best to train you howto play the game.
Also, unlike the Zone system and other kinds of laser tag, this has a tournament set up. But with all games, there are definate safety rules that people have to adheir to. They're really simple and common sense, like no running and no climbing, and most importantly, no physical contact.
We appreciate your input. Just had a group of young teens at Q-Zar for three games, some pizza and arcade time. Reviewed 21 August Tampa's ZooQuarium Admission Ticket. Really simple rules, and I've seen personally what happens when kids don't follow them, so they're there for a reason! The marshals are a bit tough on the rules, but they always warn first for most of them so you have a chance to correct yourself. I'm glad for them because I'd rather not have someone run around a corner and smack me in the face with a laser, and this place is really out to make sure everyone has not only a fun time, but a safe time in the arena when you're playing.
The staff is really attentive and friendly. They help take your vest on and off and help little kids buckle their side straps and make sure the vests are on them properly. Speaking of playing, the games are 15 minutes and it isn't eleminator, so you play the entire time. I've never played for so long in any other laser tag establishment. You really get your money's worth out of the games, especially if you get into it. I've seen people go in with a bad mood and that doesn't work.
You're here to have fun, really get into it! And the laser tag makes you super tired too. You might think that it's easy if there's no running, but when you're ducking and crouching and keeping your back up against the walls and trying to stay in cover it's a real work out for your legs.
If you think you can keep it up, there's a 4 HOUR wristband for unlimited games. As long as you play 4 you make your money's worth on it. All-in-all, Q-Zar is great if you come in with the intention of playing laser tag. Everyone loves it, you and old. My dad played not too long ago and he's pushing 70! Friday and Saturday nights are best for teens and college students, and Sundays parents play free with a paying child, so you parents can play free to tag your kids. This is the oldest and best laser tag game going.
It is suitable for family and friends. I wouldn't advise it for kids under 9 yrs old. Games are 15 minutes long and it is intense. Older laser tag games have come and gone over the years. This is so good that it has out lasted all the rest. Location is easy to find and the staff is very friendly. This is one of those unique experiences that you should try at least once. Food is ok, pizza, etc. Not great but ok. A birthday room is available and there are arcade games. Kids under 40 years old will love it. I had a lot of fun at Q zar but I can see why people complain about it. Don't have high expectations of it, food is not good, games are pricy but it's really fun.
They are very strict with the rules, make sure you go over the rules with your kids to avoid having them kicked out of the games. I would not recommend having a birthday party there, I think it would be too crowded. It's definitely a one time thing but it's worth it.
We got a groupon for three games of laser tag at this place. When we walked in there were three different childrens birthday parties and it seemed like an okay game room in the front. Lots of parents sitting around the tables. We got the coupons for the laser tag games and had to wait 40min for the next game the birthday parties were using the rooms but once we got in there the game was very fun and fairly exciting. The concept of the game we were playing though was very easy to just manipulate for points. But I had a lot of fun with it once we got into the game. Qzar is a great place to hang out and spend some family time.
I did not go but 3 of my children went with their grandmother and had a great time. They have also been individually since with friends and family. Decent pricing. Great location.
