It was much easier to share the experience as a family this way. Elves very cheerily passed out hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies that were simply divine! And soon after Mrs. About 45 minutes into the trip the kids got really excited to see none other than Santa through the window! He was all lit up surrounded by Christmas trees. It was very magical. A few minutes later the excitement in the car reached a peak as Santa boarded.
And he was perfect! He stopped and talked to each child and doled out plenty of hugs! There was ample opportunity for pictures and each child and adult received their own Christmas bell. On the way back the entire car sang Christmas carols. The elves were great at being interactive and getting all the kids involved.
My 3 year old daughter was chosen to hold a large card with the 3 and picture of hen on it during the singing of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Now every time she hears that part of the song playing anywhere else she excitedly tells me that was her part! This was such a wonderful experience for us.
Everyone at the Heber Valley Railroad was incredibly nice and they really made this a memorable trip. I would love to make it one of our new annual Christmas traditions.
