The day I got this I opened the package and gave the toy to my dog. She's a medium sized dog and a moderate chewer. Not even 3 minutes after I gave it to her, there were red pieces all over the floor and she was swallowing them. The rubber is unlike the other Kong toys we have.
It's softer.
I've contacted KONG 3 times regarding this toy to see if they would refund or give me a replacement. The thing about buying a toy like this is that we never really know if our dog is going to take to it or not until we try it. No matter how many positive or negative reviews we read it ultimately comes down to a dog's unique personality and preferences. I have included a scan of the literature that comes with this toy showing the day guarantee.
I am including a couple of photos I took of this toy showing the top and bottom openings. Also, once the residual has dried in the crevices it is difficult to clean. The paste residue didn't even come off entirely for me after running it through a dishwasher cycle.
It required a hand brush and I found it difficult to get into all those small crevices for me cleaning required a toothbrush.

But, small training treats like these do work well for those crevices if you're looking for something less messy than the KONG pastes. Finally,one of the questions here asked where this was made. They are busy working on all the crevices for a long time. I have two dogs with megaesophagus and need them to be in their Bailey chairs after meals for some time. This is a tool that helps keep them occupied for a while. I wish Kong would sponsor us, we have so many of their toys and show them off on our page! Highly recommended product. It's withstood a lot of chewing, and many uses. I pop stuff like this in the dishwasher on rinse and it's good to go. Hope Top Contributor: Yet again, a Kong toy that stands the test of time. My German Shepherd is a masterful chewer, but has had this toy for several months.
The shape is fun to use as a ball for fetch. She likes to hold it between her paws and nibble at the ridges - though has not yet been able to destroy a single one. I do sometimes stuff it with kibble, and she loves to nudge it or drop it to bounce the kibble out to eat. I also sometimes stick kibbles in the ridges, and she enjoys pulling those out to eat, too. It's been such a durable toy that I have ordered a second, larger one now that I have a second German Shepherd.
And it seems to help in cleaning her teeth. My 4 year old Standard Poodle is a gentle chewer. She never destroys a toy, chews out the squeakers or parts of a toy. She bites the toy but not aggressively.

This Kong toy is probably not something she'd ever destroy. But that's not why I got this for her. I was looking for some sort of toy that would encourage her to chew on in order to aid in keeping her teeth clean. It looks like I made a good choice. If I put a treat or treats into the Stuff-a-Ball, she will gnaw, chew and play with the toy for long periods of time trying to get the treats out.
She bites it, pushes it, goes up to the top of the stairs with it and pushes it down the stairs, retrieves it, runs up the stairs and continues doing this for a long time.
