They all seemed to be drinking 'Irish Meadow' which is like a cheap runny Baileys. God bless the tonic. Grew up on the drink and it the only alcoholic beverage for me. It has that happy factor. I grew up around the "BUCK" and never found it nice to taste, when I moved to England many years ago, A friend got me a bottle for Christmas, and I could not bear to drink it, but had to because it was a gift, bloody horrible!
However I know a couple of Scots who swear by it, and search the locale to find it. So I suppose one man's drink is another man's poison. Hello fellow Buckie drinkers. I have been drinking the stuff for a good few years now and can't get enuff of the stuff. Just a message to let everyone know that the numbers on the bottle don't mean anything.
I e-mailed the abbey in Devon and they say it is the bottle mould number and has no bearing to the contents. You can try and argue but that is straight from the horses mouth. Peace Out!!!! What can I say? When I touched the finest for the first time it changed my life forever. It made me so happy.
Can't get enough, away for a bottle now as we speak. God bless the monks. Buckfast have been given all the bad press due to neds drinking it and mixing it with other alchol related products. I myself have drunk it for over 15 years and have yet to have the urge to kick someones head in. Tonic wine is what some people might call an aquired taste but once you get the first few mouthful over and get the unusual taste there will be no stopping you.
Don't know any other drink that has the same effect, It is not a neds drink, although they do drink it, it has a broad fan base! Sorry, scrub what I said below. Ahhh bucky or buckie as me and my friends call it. Many a night me and suit paul leg-end have downed a couple of bootles of buckie before setting off on a mad head night in glasgy.
This stuff is pure gem!!! Sweet tonic wine, drank it for years and am far from a ned, all my mates drink it, a Glasgow institution, thank god all this carry on abt bannin it has died down, everyone should be free to enjoy it ;. Just ordered a bottle of the good stuff for part of a pal from work's leaving present.
The buckie has been the stuff of urban myth around the office for so long, only 3 short days til friday til it arrives and we can sample it at last!! I came up to Glasgow for work and was told to try the tipple known as Buckfast! It was explained to me how it was a very popular drink up in Scotland yet came from Devon, nearer my own location in fact.
I had never heard of it and after consuming a couple of bottles I became increasingly aware of it's magical powers!! Never have I felt so good and leary at the same time!

Here be david and ryan , we love thy old buckfast, it is sex and sex alone. I love the Bucky - it's great stuff for my McBrain. It's a shame that Athols pies in Perth doesn't sell it with my favourite mutton pies. They come from the moooores ye ken. Ok i used to be a ned, some might say i still am you know who you are lol. Popeye had his spinach, the gummiebears had their gummie berry juice and God bless those monks for bringin us buckfast tonic wine! Buckfast is the pillar of society in our small market town.
We are raised with Buckfast on our dummies, Buckfast sausages on a Saturday morning and a bottle or two of the Lurgan Red on a Saturday night, drank from the obligatory brown bag. Buckfasts mix of alcohol, caffiene and other such chemicals blends together to form a highly drinkable and effective pre-bar carry out. The medicinal properties go a long way to preventing a hangover the next day too.
The buzz attained from one or two "tens a wine" is really something quite spectacular and something which other similarly priced wines fail to produce.

Buckie can only be described as the finest drink since water was discovered, I feel so strongly about the influence this drink has had on my life, I branded myself with a tattoo of the logo on my right bicept view on imanegg.
