Even though the huge array of accessories are not cheap, every product is manufactured to very high standards, and the suction cup that you can mount on top of your car or other moving vehicle, is one of the best accessories. Maybe the GoPro range of cameras are not bargains, but in daily use, they are able to carry out functions that any other digital camera, could never dream about. Their expensive, because their rather good at what they do, and when something is good to use, and produces great results, sometimes it's worth paying for that pleasure.

Over the years, I've had all sorts of different video cameras and more recently been filming most things on my phone. I'm not an overly active sportsperson, the occasional ski trip and thats it. I wanted something high quality and compact, the Hero 4 silver hits the spot. Fantastic in natural light, a bit disappointing in low light. This came with the waterproof casing and it really does work. So far, I've used this while go-karting, canal boating, a friends wedding party, filming kids in the pool on holiday and the odd work project.
It's field of view is amazing, it takes amazing photos and the battery lasts a decent time too. Having the screen is essential. You can grab great stills of a video and the wifi control Is also really useful. Sometimes I've found I haven't been recording while I though I was, some kind of 'standby mode' , the 4k is only at 25fps so is never smooth. All of this, in the size of couple of OXO cubes!
Really good bit of kit. Films in very good quality and very durable. Only complaints would be battery life and the charging cable that comes with it. I personally bought 2 spare batteries and a new cable because the footage I'd filmed corrupted multiple times as a result of the shoddy cable disconnecting itself while importing videos. Hasn't happened since I bought the new cable. I have had my GoPro now for nearly two years. It is great for fieldwork you can just attach it to yourself and hey presto!
Also was used on holidays in Spain, Turkey, Tenerife for underwater activities in swimming pools and the sea. The housing where the white rubber section I would say needs to be replaced now as it's slightly perforating, but that is understandable as the amount of use I have got out of it has been sensational.
Actually, looking around at the various GoPro models, this looks like the cheapest of the lot seeing as the older GoPro Hero is proving hard to get a hold of nowadays. Don't bother with the Tom Tom bandit you will just wish you'd bought this instead. A fantastic camera as expected from previous reviews. I originally bought the Tom Tom bandit but found the sound on it to be unusable but found the camera mounting system to great blurry imaging. I sharp returned it opened my wallet back up and paid the extra for this. I wish I'd done it from the start!!
I would advise watching some tutorials on YouTube before putting it into use just to make sure you set it up correctly for the filming situation.
