Mud treatment enjoyable and other facilities good. Lunch was the most atrocious meal ever, in somewhat canteen like surroundings but watching the 'chef' preparing it - throwing fish with gloved hand onto lumpy mashed potato was hilarious.

Will, however, not be returning - 4 star? What a lovely relaxing day my mum and I had. We'd booked through a deal website and enjoyed a mud treatment which was strange but fun. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and to say it was a Saturday it wasn't overly busy until around 3pm. The lunch was satisfactory, wouldn't expect any more for the money. Will definitely be returning. I visited this spa because they had a good deal on wowcher. If the deal was to come on again, I would go again.

I would not pay full price. The lunch was average, 3 choices for each course and I didn't find them to be very diverse. One staff member in the restaurant had no people skills and was actually quite rude. The spa itself was clean and had lots of different steam rooms to try. I had my nails done and was told they were not allowed to remove my existing gelish Polish despite them seeing I had some on when I booked the treatment! The therapist was obviously then rushing to compete the treatment in time. I visited for the first time recently with a few friends.

Set in beautiful surrounding and a very beautiful place. The facilities were great and overall a lovely evening. The only two small downsides were that our robes had holes in them and one of the ladies who did my friends facial was a little rude when she said she didn't use a lot of products on her face, she looked down on her a little. But other than that I would highly recommend the spa and definitely the facial!

We arrived on Friday, rather harassed from travel but soon slipped into the tranquility of this lovely facility which has a hydrotherapy pool, hot beds, foot spa, drench showers, steam and sauna rooms, an ice cave and lovely relaxation area. You can go through to the pool if you want a swim where there is a steam room and sauna along with a bubble pool. The relaxation area is superb with mellow music, magazines, loungers and easy chairs with fluffy blankets so you can get all snuggled up and have a read or a snooze!

Choose Your Options

They serve drinks and snacks there too and you can get cold water from the machine in this area. If the weather is nice you can even sit outside for a while. Our treatments were lovely, hot stones massage and pedicure. The therapists we had Karen, Lucy and Keeley were very good with just the right amount of friendliness. For a non purpose-built spa it is very well thought out with all the facilities flowing well.

Highlights

For the spa experience a robe, towel and slippers are supplied within your personal locker in the changing room. The changing rooms are clean and I loved the drench shower with shower gel and shampoo supplied. The final thoughtful point - hairdryers AND straighteners! I only have one word of caution - if you are staying at the hotel, book your spa experience and treatments well in advance. I got busy and forgot and we had to take the treatment times that were available so that didn't leave me much choice.

There were no long gaps for us to have the treatments that I had really wanted at the same time so I was a bit cross with myself! Oh - they sell goggles and swimming costumes too, so if like me you forget your cossie, no need to panic! TripAdvisor uses cookies to improve your site experience.

Wowcher deal - The Spa at Thoresby Hall

Spa weekend for no particular special occasion which is just as well as the experience was OK but not special. Hotel bed comfy, room was clean but gloomy. Small window with view of overgrown courtyard. Poor soundproofing from corridor.

Reception understaffed, lengthy queues. Food in restaurant had a 'budget' feel. Spa premises were crowded and very busy, insufficient seats for the post treatment therapist 'assessment' and sales pitch which was done as a standing consultation in busy thoroughfare. Staff were friendly but the experience felt rushed. Minor point that not every aspect of the advertised treatment was included within the session. Midweek might be a better time to visit. We visited the belfry spa today and were stunned by the efficiency of the staff.

On arrival there was a mistake with our booking but the staff did not hesitate to make it up to us, in fact over and above. The facilities were lovely for the price and would defiantly revisit. Will be recommending to friends and family. I visited the Nottingham Belfry Spa facilities i am very disappointed , toilets broken, shower not working steam room not working,very small pool and the water was freezing we wondered why the pool was empty.

We visited the belfry for a day spa, The surroundings were pleasant and clean. Not impressed with the lack of loungers available for relaxing by the pool.

The Fine Print

Our treatments were fantastic. I had a lady called Evanda.. My sister in law had a lady called Liz, Also fantastic therapist.

They made the experience worth every penny. We found it to be excellent value for money with outstanding spa treatments from Kayla and Evander the best massage and facial I have ever had and my friend said the same! The pool was a little cool but I found it refreshing after warming up in the sauna and jacuzzi.

The stay in the hotel was brilliant with breakfast, a light lunch which turned into a 3 course buffet , evening meal and a free room upgrade with minibar included!!!
