This trip was different except that I was disalpointed they didn't warn passengers about the whole island power outage until the plane was landing. No doubt this made a more convenient flight for them but I will always value a company that puts its customers first. The scene at the airport was very chaotic with reservations scrambled, bags missing and cars being rented by employees with flashlights. On-line entertainment was ok. It would have been better if they could notify you more clearly in advance about how to download the information you need and to let you know that earphones are not provided.
Flight attendants were not particularly service oriented. For example, when I asked for a glass of water the flight attendant sighed and then got it. So, the result was fine but the manner was not friendly. I didn't know about the availability of the online wi-fi until just before we landed. That could be disclosed better? I thought they may just not have online check in option for certain routes. Then we found out people from same flight did get reminder.
My husband and I both have globe entry. They did it right when we flew out. On the way back, there was no TSA sign on my boarding pass, so I was redirected to regular line. I notice there were some empty seats in the front and middle of plane, they packed a lot of people in the back and separated people who traveled together but not paid and selected seats. The flight was delayed for 3 hours, also the personal at Newark airport was a little bit harsh and not very helpful, I do not care about any compensation, nevertheless the personal has to treat better to the clients. One crew member is not particularly helpful when passengers needed assistance. The 6 gate crew members in Atlanta were a joke 1 was eating a bag of cheetos.
They allowed 4 people to run up the gangway to the plane without checking their tickets before the plane was cleaned from the previous flight. They had to call security to be sure the men never made it on board. They were extremely unprofessional and unorganized. Upon embarkation I had to remind her that I had a ticket that she needed to check!
I required assistance with my bag, and had to shove it under my seat because i couldn't lift it. I will not be using them again. I have never flown an airline that has to explain to the passengers that they must sit in their assigned seats. This statement was repeated several times during the boarding process.
I have never experienced a flight quite like this one, the gate agents boarded no less than 6 or 7 times to escort people to their seats. We were over 30 minutes late leaving because of "weather" but I believe that it's code for incompetence.
The flight crew were the only professionals on board. I have to say the woman at the ticket counter was quite helpful and very calm even when passengers became upset with her for charging the bag fee. The flight attendants were friendly but not attentive. The plane smells, the air quality is staler than the norm, the seats are uncomfortable, the people who work for frontier are rude and no one will accommodate you for anything. Extremely high charge for carry-on baggage, extremely high charge for changing flight times, no beverage service, seats are very small with no iPhone charger available.
Having to pay 35 dollars both ways to check in my luggage. Since they were charging 40 to take it on board as a carryon.
The ticketing counters appeared to be under staffed. It would be nice to offer non alcoholic beverages for free. The time the flight took didn't even noticed the time. The crew was professional. The food choices aren't really good. Not much to choose from The is no longer feasible at the load factors that the airline is using for it. Although the seats had been re-furbished, the overhead space is completely unsuited for roll on luggage and so, can't even come close to accommodating the number of bags that are brought on to any flight close to capacity.
I would think that it would be beneficial for American to waive the checked baggage fee on any flight to keep from boarding delays due to lack of overhead space.
Also, on this flight we had the added problem of a maintenance issue. The flight departure kept getting pushed back in 15 minute increments and there appeared to be a disturbing lack of knowledge of what needed to be done and the time it would take to finish the repair and more on the paperwork to release the plane.
We were kept in cramped and uncomfortable circumstances for 3 hours for a 2. This was a bad experience.
No food was served just a drink in a 4 hr night flight. But AA never serves food so it was kind of expected Also there was not enough space for the feet, it was small and felt claustrophobic, plus no entertainment.
