I guessed maybe it's not a manufacturer thing, maybe Android OS no longer support these features. So far so good. I've been using the phone for over 4 weeks now.
Display is excellent and vivid, camera including video recording is awesome, especially outdoor full light shots. Dust and water protection is a boon. I added a silicon case and tempered glass for added protection. The phone now feels a lot tougher. The phone is quite heavy but seems well built. It feels great in hand with its metal uni-body and front glass. However, now the case seems to have solved this problem, since it made the key less protruding.
Like almost all manufacturers, Sony installs unnecessary apps which I would have liked to uninstall but can't.
Well, after all, bloatware has become part of Android. The OS is quite zippy on this powerful hardware.
The battery can last 4 days with moderate use I am a very light user and am happy with the battery lifetime , and more days or less depending on usage. The battery is not removable, which can be a trouble but I really never had a dead battery on my previous phone and never needed to remove the battery to replace it. Get the Sony Xperia XA. Leaked drawings suggest device will also have side fingerprint scanner. Looking for a different phone?

As many of you know, if you want a high-end compact flagship phone your options are very slim. At the time of writing, the only real competitors to this phone are older Sony phones and the iPhone SE. The iPhone SE isn't even a flagship and this iteration is definitely an improvement over previous models. The camera received a healthy upgrade as well as the SoC--we actually got the flagship SoC Snap this time around.
I also appreciate the switch to a hard plastic back rather than glass that'll take one drop to shatter. I feel comfortable using this phone without a case. You also receive "HD Voice" when using these options. The real question is: Assuming this form factor is a hard requirement, is the XZ1 compact worth the extra money over an X Compact? If you're willing to get a bigger phone, there are many other models with comparable or better hardware that aren't as expensive.
And while it still works, I've had to replace the battery and while trying to replace the front outer screen, I broke the LCD screen. So while a new screen was on order from Hong Kong, I decided it was time. I bought the brand new Xperia XZ1 Compact. And wow, this thing is expensive!
What could it possibly do that my older Z1 Compact couldn't do already? I was skeptical. I am on T-Mobile and had to switch from a larger sim card micro to the smaller card nano. I quick trip to the local T-Mobile store solved this easily at no cost to me. Once the sim was installed in the phone, and booted, both WiFi-calling and voice-over-LTE worked automatically. There was no configurations steps that I needed to perform at all to get this to work. It also displays an icon to prove to you that it is enabled. And the reception on this new Xperia XZ1 kills the original Z1. I get LTE reception is areas that I get no reception on the original.
Again, this makes the upgrade well worth it to me. I really miss the physical lanyard loop in the lower right hand corner of the original Z1.
