The rooms were very small but most hotels throughout Europe are , the walls were paper thin, and were very outdated. However, Italy is much more expensive than Mexico and Costa Rica. After visiting the Vatican with Walks of Italy plus a day and a half of wandering the streets of Rome, we decided we had enough of that town and take a visit down south. I really wanted to see the Amalfi Coast for all of its beauty and knew next to nothing about Pompeii.
But plot twist, Pompeii my favorite by a long shot! Once the 3 days in Rome were up, we had to make our way to Florence. We went an hour early to the train station which was easy to find and that turned out to be a mistake. You have to wait 15 minutes before the train arrives to see which platform it will arrive on. So we essentially twiddling our thumbs for 45 minutes staring at the platform sign. The unique part of this trip was everyone that booked our package all sat near each other on the train. We come with a seating assignment that was booked when we bought the package.
