I researched foods for kidney disease and most people said their cats actually ate this food. After a couple days of fluids girlfriend got her appetite back and loves this food. I do mix in a little water for servings later during the day to moisten it up.
My other girls are finicky and wouldn't try it from the start, but my boy loves it he'll eat anything though. A few weeks later girlfriend is doing better and still loves the food.

We also give him Azodyl kidney supplement, mixed in with a spoonful of wet food - and he always gobbles it down. I was pleased to see the NF formulation in a Wet food, our vet only carries the dry. I'm feeding him 3 times a day to bring his weight up, and in under a week I can see that he's visibly looking more filled out and doesn't feel nearly as bony. She eats this Purina renal wet food like it's regular wet food. I'm so pleased that I found it. My It took a few days of giving it to him but his vet said he needed to be on a kidney diet. They gave me a few cans of this to try. I ordered a case and as another reviewer has said, some of the cans seem to be old.
The color and smell is off. I didn't even give those to my cat. I am finishing out this case and am going to order this from another site that is dedicated solely to pets where I know it will be fresh. The expiration date is good on the cans I received but there's obviously something wrong with some of them. Overall the food itself is what my cat needs but am not sure about the quality of the food from this supplier.
