The quality is good better than our local butcher and the prices are much better.

We loved it in Hawaii. We were staying at a timeshare with a full kitchen so we took advantage of the Costco there.

FWIW, Costco has a ton of unprocessed foods — fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, etc. You can easily get non-processed foods there, in fact the vast majority of our food purchases are from that area of the store. The only exceptions are party type foods, chicken nuggets and mac and cheese, which are treats that come out for parties, not every day eating. Thank you for your concern! I discovered this by mistake once. Like other retailers, costco tries to be price competitive but not the low price leader on everyday staple items and seasonally relevant items like tax software.
