There is a lot of historic stuff to do in Philly. If you are going see the sights. Theres the Liberty Bell among other things. Take some friends and see the historic city. Of course there is also the battle of the cheesesteaks. You have to try the food. Bottom of the Sea Soul Jeff and Chris will treat you right FOOD is unbelievable and affordable! We really enjoyed the city, as a history buff it was so fufilling to take it all in.
It was busy with hustle and bustle everything you want in a city.
Like any city it comes with its flaws. There was a lot of homeless and a lot begging in a large city this is expected. Traveling with small children in a unfamiliar area it can always be a little unsettling we did notice there was a comfortable amount of police presence so that helped with the uneasiness. The market was crazy crowded on Sunday we returned Monday morning and got to enjoy it then. This time was a trip to see family but have been to Philly many, many times and never run out of things to do!!! Always look forward to my next visit!!! Let me reccommend the Franklin Institute,especially if you are traveling with kids.
Even if you don't have kids it's worth a visit, so worth it that even though I live in N. I have a membership. The temporary exhibits are worth it alone!!

The Historic District, the Art Museum, the shopping, the restaurants particularly Max Brenner's if you are a chocoholic like me , Eastern Pennitentary, there's just so much and the best part is very affordable for the most part. Although there is a lot of transportation available, there is a lot of walking too So many great museums, restaurants, bars, and activities! From Stephen Starr to Sabrina's, the dining possibilities are endless! National Science Institute and Rodin Museum are must sees.
Yards Brewing is an amazing facility - don't miss it! Booked this location for my girlfriend and I for our two years anniversary. They upgraded my room for free and also left a bottle of wine and two glasses on the table for me and my significant other to share.

The room was clean, and bed was sooo comfortable. They have a Asian American restaurant, and an Irish pub with some amazing cheesesteak egg rolls! The desert was good also. Overall you are pretty much in the heart of center city Philadelphia and can pretty much walk to restaurants or take an uber for cheap due to prime location. This property is located dead center in Philly's historic section.
Ben Franklins grave site is next door, Betsy Ross house is up the street, the Liberty Bell is around the corner. I mean honestly I could have booked a hotel in Center City but this one definitely took the cake for our needs. Everything is in walking distance. We literally took the car out 3 times; Philly Zoo, Franklin Institute, then home.
This is absolutely a great place to stay, especially if you plan on being out for the majority of your trip. Ideal location in Center City, situated close to Chinatown and great restaurants, walkable to Museum row.
