The extreme delay that caused me to nearly miss my connection with Air China, the incredibly low level of English spoken on a flight originated in the US, and the complete dismissal of three cabin crew members when I asked about arrangements to be expedited to our connecting flight to Bangkok.
Avoid this airline completely, and if at all possible, transiting through Beijing Capital Airport. Check-in was frustrating with split lines, late openings. Could not get boarding pass on kiosk or on website. Kayak is not user-friendly and does not seem to support online check-in. Would not recommend using it to others. Will not use it again. The is nice and new and in premium economy the legroom stretches for miles. They lost our Bags! Crew did not speak english! Transferring is a pain!
Food was very poor quality. My tv screen did not work well. There was a man behind me coughing all 15 hours. I would think that the flight crew would advise him to cover his mouth when coughing or offer him warm tea. Plane was dirty. No ports to charge electronics. Very outdated plane. I had to run through Beijing airport because I had 45 minutes for connecting flightgate was very far from arriving gate. I am at Bangkok airport now waiting on 2 pieces of lost luggage. Food was not good. We had to wait in the airport for hours for it arrive on the next flight.
The experience at Beijing airport was my worst experience in any airport. The Chinese staff were very rude. Just to transfer planes everyone must submit their fingerprints. No video entertainment on board. Would have been nice to have been able to watch a movie. Bathrooms smelt at the beginning.
Seats were week and rickety. On boarding was very quick. I was happy to get a meal on a short flight. I do not recall any entertainment. The off boarding was slow. Plane was very dirty, seats were old and falling apart. My entertainment system didn't even work. Compare to other flights there are no any positive feedback. Price High, broken seats, food quality bad and less.
