Bonefish found a way! And as a result I was very disappointed! As for the main course, on this visit my husband was very disappointed! The server did not get his order correct and the Salmon arrived dry without the Mango Salsa. Since it had taken so long for the server to even take our order we were only served after asking another server to locate our server!
My dish was fine. We did both enjoy the new side — crab rice. I have been here numerous times but not much recently.
The last three times I have been disappointed. Why do I return? Because I really want to like this place.
First off on our most recent visit we ate at the bar and I have to say our bartender provided the most excellent service. I am gluten free and if he didn't know the answer he found it. I generally try to fly under the radar as much as possible because I have a very good idea what I can and cannot have.
The food is always terrible. I feel bad saying it but I just cannot seem to get a good meal there. I ordered the lobster tails and they were mushy and had a terrible smell to them. It made me nauseous, I had to move my plate away. The green beans also smelled old like they were not fresh. And lastly, there menu lists that all of their wines are gluten free. I highly doubt it. It is unlikely a restaurant carries a full menu of gluten free wines.
I rarely ever find a restaurant that even carries a gluten free wine and yet there are many, some even from local wineries. I gave this place two stars because we still had a great time at dinner and the service is was impeccable.

Reviewed 1 November via mobile. Friday night birthday dinner. The sushi is good, and attractively presented, and the service was fine. They had the most amazing Sushi Tower. My wife and I started with the chuka ika squid appetizer. This appetizer was fantastic!
Kids got edamame and chicken gyoza. We also got the sashimi sampler. All the fish was extremely fresh. Hwe dup bap was the main dish.
Again the freshness of the fish made this dish. I should have asked for more gochuchang hot sauce. The kids had bulgogi and tempura. The server forgot to bring the miso soup with the kids' meals. They both enjoyed their entrees. We went on a Sunday evening so things were pretty quiet. Also, it's ByOB on Sundays. Will definitely go back to try other Korean dishes. We went in March and thoroughly enjoyed our first visit there. We will definitely be back, as all four of us really were impressed.
This was our first dinner there; we will definitely be back. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience. My girlfriend and I ordered the volcano mussels and oyster shooters for appetizers. Then we ordered three rolls for the main course. I believe their sushi is better than Blue Fin. They are a little more expensive than your standard sushi place, but the rolls are also bigger portions than normal.
I'll have to go back again soon and try some of the other rolls. We were greeted warmly. The waiter was terrific and knowledgable. Each dish was presented beautifully, fresh and delicious.

Limited menu, sushi overpriced, sterile dining room. We've only been here twice and both times I ordered the "tower" which was so good. The wait staff is great, there is enough room between tables, and the presentation of the food is impressive. This is a must-try! The food was very good and our waitress Cindy K was very personable. Umami Umami mini tower is absolutely awesome. Must try this if you go.
We did both enjoy the new side — crab rice. The service is exceptional, the food is consistently superb, and it is conveniently located. All restaurants in Exton Overall 3 food 4 service 2 ambience 3. We went in March and thoroughly enjoyed our first visit there.
This is turning into one of my new favorite sushi restaurants. I can't wait to go back. If you want hot food you might have to wait and wait and wait. While our server was very nice thanks for the free edamame we have to rate the service here as only fair. We were there early on a Saturday evening and our hot entrees took far too long. It seems that the kitchen was overwhelmed with take-out orders while the few folks ordering hot meals in house were left hanging. Gordon Ramsay would not have been pleased. Thing is the food was very good, so we might give it a second chance, just not on a Saturday night.
As a former regular, I have really become disappointed with UU's lack of customer service. The food service was slow on a night with three other tables I can't imagine how they would handle a full house. My request to sub out a roll on one of their samplers due to a food allergy was met with a refusal by our server, then another refusal by the manager. THEN the server came back and said I could sub out the allergic element for something else, but it had to be the same roll.
That's a semantical argument. Restaurants are a service business and by taking their customers for granted; Umami Umami demonstrates that they don't value their customers and that there's no real reason to come back.
