The battery will not hold a charge long enough to to vacuum a 7' x 12' room. We have followed the manufacturer's instructions regarding charging draining and recharging procedures. Unfortunately we're a month past Amazons return date. We'll attempt to contact customer service to resolve this issue. I'll update with the results.
Spoke to customer service and found out the charger was wrong, they sent a new one at no cost. The battery is now holding a charge as expected and working good. I have purchased this Bissell Sweeper twice. I purchased another one just last Sept 25, I found that the model had been changed and the corner brushes had been removed. These really helped with getting into edges and corners, even though they eventually do stop spinning. Don't know why the company removed them. I have owned sweepers before and have never had this problem.
They should last at least a couple of years! I need a replacement for this defective product! So Amazon customer service put me in touch with the manufacturer. After several questions, it was determined that the charger was defective. They sent me a replacement charger free of charge and no shipping and I am happy to report that my sweeper is working once again. Changing to 4 stars because it does a good job but still not happy that corner brushes removed from this model and it does not get into corners or edges very well like the previous model did.
But much better and easier than sweeping with a broom and easier than getting the vacuum cleaner out. Just what I needed.
Great litter picker upper. In pictures charged about 6 hours rather than 14 out the box as suggested. Look how much it picked up going over carpet and hardwood less than 5 minutes! Look at the cat hair in there. With my toddler constantly spilling food and my dogs ripping up toys, it has become difficult to clean up and my vacuum was not happy with me. After getting this , it helped to clean up the bigger items that my vacuum doesn't like to pick up. Even my toddler loves using it.
There are two things that I don't like, one being very annoying The initial charging of the unit as per the manual, say the initial charge should be for about 16 hours After the initial charge, should the battery run out, it will take 12 hours every time you need to recharge the unit. More like holding and steering a stick. Unit power is OK, nothing to write home about Overall I believe one should pay more and go with a good cordless stick vac.
We have been charging the unit since it was received, and unplugged it overnight, and re plugged it in, in the morning to continue the initial 16 hour charge. We use for everying in between maid visits every couple weeks. Also picks up kitty litter very well. Picked up small things well. However, the handle is too short I'm 5'7", have to slightly hunch over the whole time and there is no way my husband or tall kids can use. Even worse is the way to empty the collection cup! It is messy, gets caught and I had to pull stuff out by hand and it is not easy to rinse collection container. I have dogs so there is a lot of dog hair. I would not recommend for anyone as tall or taller than me and definitely not if you have pets. More You can't miss such a great deal at bissell.
