We had quiet and comfortable stays. Great location, although no lake view, but no more than five minutes to Lake Louise. Interesting historical building. The staff was great and the cabins were perfect. Super close to Lake Louise. Very clean.

It was one of the cheaper places in Lake Louise but definitely not cheap. My hiking buddy and I have made two trips to the Canadian Rockies in the last year. Mosquito Creek is our absolute favorite! We stayed for two nights in early April There was feet of snow still which made it seem like a winter wonderland with beautiful icicles hanging from the eves. The manager was friendly and obviously loves what he does. I really appreciated the fact that he would check-in on us two women traveling alone periodically — but never intrusive.
He also checked with us regarding our hiking plans and I felt good knowing that someone knew where we were hiking, it is the wilderness after all! The hostel is easy to find, right along the Icefields Parkway just little north of Lake Louise and they have plenty of parking. The cabins were very clean, not to mention warm and cozy!
Using propane to heat the cabins and solar power for lighting and power. The beds were comfortable and linens, blankets and pillows are provided. The kitchen was spacious with plenty of cookware and utensils — everything we needed. Mosquito creek also has a big social room with a wood stove in the center and plenty of wood and kindling to start your own fire.
It was chilly in that room but the fire was warm and there are lots of windows to watch the beautiful snow covered scene outside. They also have some books and games to keep you occupied. The manager had told us about the snowshoe and cross country ski trails right from the hostel.
