Theback panel had terrible scratch marks. Although it says the camera has 13 mega pixels, it is a disaster, pictures are not clear at all.
Buy it now. While the metal of the HTC One M8 covers the edges too, the One Mini 2 has a plastic rim, though it's only particularly noticeable at the top and bottom, as the metal back curves up into the sides, leaving just a narrow strip of plastic. Manufacturer Colour: A rather well-rounded smartphone offering wrapped in a luxurious outer shell and with excellent multimedia capabilities. On my gunmetal grey review unit the volume rocker switch on the right is actually glacial silver. The build quality is close to top notch and it really does feel like a smaller One M8, although I did find the nanoSIM tray on the left of the device didn't sit completely flush with the case. Although it says the camera has 13 mega pixels, it is a disaster, pictures are not clear at all.
The back panel had terrible scratch marks. It came without a charger and the pin to open the sim slot.
Although the camera claims 13 mega pixels it is not even closer to it. Very unhappy.

See details and exclusions. It's very slightly raised at one end, and every now and then I'd run a finger over it and it would detract from the overall experience. Not a big issue, and something which may be addressed in future production batches. Over on the right side of the HTC One Mini 2 there's a volume rocker switch sitting just below another tray.
Some may find it a little bit annoying that you'll need a tool to pop the tray out and access the microSD slot, as you may not have one when out and about, but again it's a small price to pay for the superior design.
I think we can all agree that it's good to have choices, which is why it's great The HTC One Mini 2 falls into this latter category with a smaller inch . half the price, admittedly wrapped in a somewhat unsightly plastic shell. The HTC One M8 has been hit by the shrink ray, and while the One Mini 2 is still a good phone it's lost its 5 star class. as you may not have one when out and about, but again it's a small price to pay for the superior design.
With under 12GB of the internal storage available to you, the fact the microSD slot can take cards up to GB in size means you won't have to worry as much about running out of space - although apps can make up a pretty meaty chunk quite quickly. The One Mini 2 arrives in three colours; gunmetal grey, amber gold and glacial silver - the latter being the hero colour for the original HTC One and One Mini.
On my gunmetal grey review unit the volume rocker switch on the right is actually glacial silver. Initially HTC said this was a defect that would only effect early batches of the grey handset, but the company has since confirmed that all future gunmetal grey One Mini 2s will have the silver volume key.
Its placement on the One Mini 2 actually makes it a little harder to hit when holding the handset in your right hand, although lefties can rejoice as it's easier in the opposite paw. Above and below the 4.
Non-removable 2, mAh battery. Unsurprisingly, the bigger M8 has the larger capacity battery to accommodate the greater demands on the components like the larger 5-inch screen. These will allow you to restrict screen brightness, turn off vibration key feedback, turn off mobile data and limit the CPU speed — all things that can help prolong the need to reach for the microUSB charging cable. The M8 has the extra addition of an extreme power saving mode, which generates its own interface that only gives you access to core phone features like the phone dialler, SMS, email, calendar and calculator.
This should only really give you a few extra hours, though, and is best used when your battery is running very low.
If you want the absolute best then the One M8 is very much the phone to buy. You could buy the Nexus 5 for around the same price, which is only marginally larger but much better overall. Next, see our best mobile phones round-up or our Android 4.
