The doorman was the one who insisted on the ambulance. The GM stood there with the family until the ambulance left and spoke with us multiple times throughout the stay.
Staff in general was great. We had stayed once prior when it first opened and had issues. Those issues are gone. We had some minor complaints. One was that the hottubs have no lifeguards near them and kids were doing back and front flips into it and playing Marco Polo. After getting into an argument with one teen my husband did get a lifeguard who did have them stop.
Not the resort's fault for misbehaving guests. Again not really the resorts fault although they should be more diligent in making sure parents make their children wear swimming diapers. Kids Club Scavenger Hunt pries were inconsistent. One night it was arcade credits for 1st and 50 for second, second day was 50 each for a tie for first and? Had to go to the desk 3 times to try to get it addressed and still waiting.
Yes, even with issues will give them 5 stars for the way the staff was during our time of emergency and the all around friendly staff and fun time the kids had. Have so many more photos but have yet to download them. Amazing time and will definitely visit again. From the friendly and efficient service when we checked in to the incredible theming throughout the hotel and water park, to the extreme cleanliness in our hotel room, dining areas and water park, this was the perfect destination for fun and creating lasting family memories!

We hope to have you stay with us again soon! This was our third time at Kalahari - once in Sandusky and two times in the Poconos. Wanted to experience the expanded water park. Got there on Friday night - easy check in. Had room in new hotel wing - room was large and brand new so no real complaints there. Water park is huge with many slides and attractions so waiting was not a big factor.
If you go in the morning its not crowded but the crowds build on the weekend as the day goes on. They sell day pass admissions so its not just the hotel guests that are in the park. They do limit the amount of day passes. I believe Camelback and Great Wolf lodge have a more strict rule for non hotel guest. The weekend hotel prices are a little outrageous - there is no feeling of exclusiveness coming with the high prices.
Also the arcade prices are very high and the prizes are disappointing. We ate at a new place on Saturday night Sortino's- its italian and it was very good.
That's was one appetizer, four entrees, sodas, one alcoholic drink and one dessert. Not outrageous but high. The food was very good as was the service. Parking lots by midday are bursting at seams, since they were also having an event in the convention center. Overall, experience is uneven. These are not growing pains since this co has large resorts in the mid west and has been operating in the Poconos for awhile. This is a big resort with a lot invested and they are looking for a return. Hotel is nice, food venues appear good, park is packed with people and gets messy by the end of the day, but its big enough so that the lines do not get outrageous.
But for the prices they charge on the weekend, you would expect an exclusive experience and its not even close to that.
But its what the market will bear. With the competition in the area, they would go out of business if they were charging more that the market will tolerate - there are enough customers willing to pay what they are asking so I guess it works. Hi Tom!

The best Waterpark I've been to. This place is huge. One convenient this is everything can be bought with your bracelet and you use it as your key the your room.
