Called the "City of Sails" due to the large number of yachts anchored in Waitemata Harbor, Auckland is the largest city of both New Zealand and Polynesia.
Built on the Auckland Volcanic Field featuring about 48 extinct volcanoes, this city truly is a blast! Auckland is a real cultural mix with strong Asian, European, Maori and Polynesian influences, celebrated in frequent festivals and sports events. For more, try the upmarket dining of Viaduct Harbour.
Another must-see is the tallest free-standing tower in the Southern Hemisphere, the Sky Tower. For a different perspective, why not try a cruise or sea kayaking? Getting to the city center is an easy trip from Auckland International Airport. Find modern hotels, comfortable motels and cheap hostels on Booking. Please enter a valid email address. A wonderful city which has something to offer to any kind of traveller: A highly recommended destination!
We then ate a deli close by. The hotel has a shuttle bus so we caught that to return to the hotel. The streets can be quite steep so we enjoyed the ride back to the Cordis. I had a short stay so I didn't get to see much. But there are beautiful neighborhoods surrounding this city worth checking out. We saw Devonport and it was lovely. The city is growing but it's not overwhelming. The people are friendly and the weather was fine. The Harbour and ferries were great and the restaurants Outstanding.
Recomnend sky theatres city of lovers play for entertainment. Don't miss Aladdin at the civic. Check out Elliott street stables and the Asian fusion kitchen.. Sky tower is great for lunch, spend the extra few dollars and enjoy a wonderful lunch, we thought the food was fabulous. It is a big city though, as travelers from the US, we took the super-shuttle to our apartment at the Princess wharf and used UBER the entire time there.
The Princess wharf is a great location, harbor side, nice breeze and amazing ferries and ships to watch. The rental house is excellent. Even though it is not near the Central Business District, it is near a local shopping community and Auckland airport. The host is super friendly and thoughtful.
The breakfast is beyond expectation. We stayed in double room with private bathroom and the facilities were very nice and cosy. The bed is super comfortable. We also like the lovely garden around the house. If we go to Auckland, we will definitely think of this property. Highly recommended to couple and family. The kind and helpful hostess. However, the Hostess was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and served us well for our needs. Considering how expensive hotel rooms at in Auckland, this was a steal. Also it was a 5min walk to the nearest metro station and so getting into and from City Center was a snap.
It is not a budget hotel, but not at the top end either. The restaurant does good meals and the buffet breakfast is fine as well. Rooms are moderate size and comfortable, though not super well lit if you need to do work.
WiFi is free, though not the fastest, and you are likely to get cut off a midnight the morning you check out. Restaurant below accomodation and a few cafes. The bedroom is clean with modern facilities. The front counter was very helpful and accommodating, able to look after your luggage after checkout as well as advise of local eateries in the area. Agreed with reviewers that said the rooms look pretty dated. We booked the two bedrooms apt but was upgraded to the premier. The room was really spacious for all 5 of us. Bigger than some of my friends inner city apartments in Auckland itself.
Location was pretty central uphill walk from Queens St Parking 35nzd was good compared to some other Auckland City Hotel. Overall we had a good stay. Their house is so clean and tidy with lovely design. Highly recommend! Easy to walk down into the city centre without a map. Right near Myers Park which is a hidden gem to walk through into the city. Budget accomodation done well, clean and well equipped room.
Also unlike other hotels at this price, the room had a kettle with hot drink options and bathroom products. A really comfortable 4 night stay! Only there 1 night but I had no problems at all, unit was spacious, clean, good shower and facilities, bed was very comfortable, plenty of parking area, airport shuttle was excellent both to and from.
Nice and close to the Auckland airport. Reception personal was very helpful and courteous as was the shuttle driver. Recommend it to everyone. We stayed there for three nights in summer. It's brand new and centrally located. The room was spatious and clean.
The staff very friendly they gave us free late check out. More than recommended when staying in Auckland. The bus stop for the Airport bus leaves directly in front of the hotel. Lots of parking spots at Hotel.
Wonderful attentive and authentic service from staff. Restaurant facilities and food is of a high standard. The location is great as we were only spending one night in Auckland, the airport is very close and there is a bus stop right in the corner, by public transport it took us around 40 minutes to get to the city centre, the place is clean, it has the basic facilities for one night.
Close to the westfields and not far from the airport. The huge windows we had made the place seem like it was so claustrophobic. Parking fee was pretty cheap. Reception was very helpful. Very secure you needed to have a swipe to get up the elevator to the apartments. Right in the heart of the CBD. Great waterfront location and close to all the Viaduct restaurants and bars. My favourite hotel in Auckland. Nice balcony rooms overlooking Auckland harbour.
An excellent hotel with a restaurant that serves great food. Close to city centre on a quiet street, there was bus stop across the road from the hotel. This unit was very neat and clean. It had a location between the airport and downtown Auckland.
