We had an awesome time running live escape games and interacting with our future business owners, leaders, and entrepreneurs at these events. This should have indicated that the game could not be solved in an hour, but we were excited by the challenge. Then we were told there would be 25 clues provided.
This was another indicator that the game must be too difficult if 25 clues were necessary to complete. While working through game, we came upon a lock that did not open and could not even be opened by the owners. We were unable to open a clue, even when we had the correct combination. When the owners realized this, they quick glossed over it and tried to turn our attention to something else. This was very frustrating because part of the enjoyment is knowing it can be solved.
I was disappointed with the owners for realizing their mistake, but not caring how it affected our game. The other half of this experience was the 25 available clues. Many of the clues were just pictures of the room. A valuable clue relates to the association of pieces of information, not saying "look at the bird cage".
We won't be going back. There are too many others in town that are much better. My best friend and I have always loved to solve puzzles and read mystery novels. We decided to give The Clue Room a try and it was great! It requires communication, teamwork, and creativity to solve the mystery and get out of the room. I am returning with my team later this week as a team building exercise. Highly recommend for those tired of the same-o-same-o and those that like to use their minds.
Our group of 5 had a great time solving the easiest of the 3 puzzle rooms. We missed an obvious clue and needed a hint to make it out in time, but we had a blast! The clues really do require everyone to work together to get them all solved in the hour time limit. Great way to spend an hour with friends. Getting g the combination for the locks needs everyone in the group to think analyse the clue for patterns. Some are really strait forward and others take a little bit of creative thinking.
Highly recommend for a quick hour of fun. Believe me the hour you have goes by in a flash. In addition, they get to practice team work and high levels of communication or not! Todd and Elisa are fantastic! What a great way to have FUN and get some work done!
